Great Charity event at Wally's Hampton!

12/30/2025

You didn’t scroll while it played.

You didn’t half-hear it.

You let it take over the room.

The floor.

The speakers.

Your body.

Music wasn’t something happening in the background.

It was the moment.

You didn’t rush it.

You didn’t interrupt it.

You gave it your attention.

And maybe that’s what made it hit harder.

Because when you actually listened…

It stayed with you.

12/22/2025

There was no urgency back then.

No constant buzzing in your pocket.

No pressure to keep up with anything or anyone.

You could lie on the floor and let a song take as long as it needed.

You didn’t scroll past music.

You sat with it.

You listened all the way through, even when it hurt a little.

Especially when it hurt a little.

The world didn’t demand your attention every second.

It waited.

Music filled the space instead.

It slowed your breathing.

It gave your thoughts somewhere to land.

You didn’t feel behind.

You felt present.

The 70s weren’t perfect.

But they understood something we lost.

Life doesn’t always need to move faster.

Sometimes it needs to move deeper.

And sometimes all you needed was the floor, a record, and time to let the moment stretch.

What’s your favorite live album? I’m going with Live Bullet Bob Seger. It feels genuine, hard hitting, old school, emotional.

ABBA’s “Knowing Me, Knowing You”
ABBA's "Knowing Me, Knowing You" is a melancholic ballad that explores the heartbreak of a relationship falling apart. The song paints a picture of a once-happy couple now living in a state of silence and emptiness. The lyrics describe walking through a now-empty house, filled with memories of happier times but devoid of joy in the present.

Sung primarily by Anni-Frid Lyngstad, the song uses the refrain "Knowing me, knowing you" to express a sense of regret and disillusionment. The implication is that if they had truly understood each other, perhaps the relationship wouldn't have reached this point. Despite the sadness, the melody remains hopeful, with a gentle piano playing a prominent role alongside Lyngstad's vocals. This creates a bittersweet quality, acknowledging the pain of the situation while still holding onto a glimmer of past affection. "Knowing Me, Knowing You" became one of ABBA's most enduring hits, resonating with listeners who have experienced the loss of love.
