Happy New Year 2023!

We wanted all to know that the B&B is officially closed, as of December 31st, 2022. We have enjoyed over 23 years of success in running this small business, thanks mostly to a wonderful array of guests from all over the USA and the world. We are especially grateful to those who returned time and again to stay with us, who have indeed become our B&B family.

In closing our doors, we will remain in the house and enjoy its charms ourselves. We plan to spread out and use the rooms we have been cleaning and maintaining all these years.

Inflation and increased energy costs were also a determination in our decision. A recent news segment evaluated in particular inflation's effect on breakfast. Since November 2021, breakfast costs have risen 24% (eggs 100%, bread 19%, coffee 39%, milk 15%). In reality, egg prices have risen 400% in the last two years. This level of inflation is not sustainable. We remain concerned for other local food service establishments.

We wish all of our former guests good health and happiness in the coming years. And safe travels.

We welcomed a new member to the household last weekend. He's already made himself right at home. (No worries for cat allergic guests; "Timothy" will be an outdoor kitty.)

The azaleas have popped. I had to quick take this picture this morning to avoid the mockingbirds' attack. Their nest (with hatchlings) is located in the quince bush to the left front of arbor. You can see Daddy standing guard....The back garden is changing every day as the colors deepen and new blooms replace old ones.

Week #2: the boy is wearing us out. We've upped our game trying to reverse the situation. It isn't working. He kept doing the rounds of this obstacle course until we had to call him into dinner at 6 o'clock. Hope everyone's well!
