Stone Face Manor Guest Check-In Log — Bird Edition

It appears our feeder camera has officially become the second front desk.

Today’s arrivals:

Mr. Chickadee checked -in: 6:42 AMNotes: Very polite. Took one seed and left. Would absolutely stay again.

Blue Jay (Unregistered Guest)Check-in: 7:03 AMNotes: Loud. Confident. Attempted to carry away half the feeder. Believes he owns the property.

Dark-Eyed Junco check-in: 7:18 AMNotes: Stayed under the feeder. Avoided eye contact. Suspicious of management.

Northern Cardinal check-in: 7:25 AMNotes: Demanded window-side seating and perfect lighting. Requested his photo be taken.

Red-Bellied Woodpecker check-in: 8:02 AMNotes: Found the camera. Stared directly into lens. Possibly reviewing our security system.

Amenities enjoyed: fresh air, forest views, unlimited seed buffet.Complaints: squirrels.

If you sit on the porch long enough at Stone Face Manor, you’ll realize…you’re not just staying in the woods — you’re staying with the woods. 🌿

It’s that time of year…

The decorations are down.
The holidays are over.
Spring isn’t quite here yet.
And somehow life feels loud again.

But mornings at Stone Face Manor still start the same way:

No alarm clocks.
No traffic.
Just coffee, quiet woods, and a slow breakfast you didn’t have to cook.

Sometimes the best vacation isn’t a big trip…
it’s simply disappearing for a couple days.

We’ll take care of the rest. 🤍

We are doing Chapter 3 of the Haunted History tours!
These stories will be different than the first 2 years and include:
Southern IL Coal mining tales, Old time funeral traditions, History of the local Pauper farm/poor house, and a local Civil war soldier.

We will have concessions for sale(even if you don't go on a tour, you know you need some pumpkin roll cookies, warm cookies or warm brownies!)
