✨ Tour of the Manor Begins ✨
Long before it became The Manor on Front, these riverfront homes stood as proud pieces of Harrisburg’s history—built in the early 1900s when the Susquehanna shoreline was lined with elegance, ambition, and beautifully crafted architecture.
What you see today is actually two distinct structures: the stately Ledgestone Mansion and the elegant Mary Sachs Mansion. The Mary Sachs building, constructed in 1926 by Harrisburg businessman Ira Romberger, would later become home to Mary Sachs herself—known as the “Merchant Princess of Pennsylvania.”
Within these walls, Sachs built more than a life—she built a legacy. A successful women’s fashion entrepreneur, she welcomed notable guests into her home, including Eleanor Roosevelt, filling the space with conversation, style, and influence.
After her passing in 1960, the home entered a quieter chapter—serving as an attorney’s office before eventually sitting vacant for over a decade. But even then, its story wasn’t finished.
Over time, both homes were lovingly restored and brought together, preserving their character while giving them new purpose. Today, they stand united as The Manor on Front—where history isn’t just remembered, it’s experienced.
Now, the story continues…welcoming guests, hosting celebrations, and creating new memories—one stay at a time. ✨
