Well it is official, we have adopted a stray dog. He was starved and full of fleas two months ago when Dean brought him home from work. I did earnestly try to locate his owners, but had no luck. Today he was neutered. He is ours now. Any tips on house training an approximately 2 year old dog? He is getting better but we are hoping the surgery helps. We named him Rusty. Isn't he cute?

At the request of a recent guest, I added a teak bench for the shower. I also added a towel rack and teak tub tray for a phone and drinks to set on. Tonight, a couple is coming in to celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary. I made them homemade cookies, a bar of my soap, homegrown elephant garlic, Martha Stewart candle, and a bottle of wine. Yes, I happily spoil my guests!

Hello, I’m Angela Grace 🤍

Lately, I’ve felt a quiet shift… maybe you have too.

A desire to slow down, live a little simpler, and create a home that feels peaceful but also prepared for today's uncertain times.

Here, I share what that actually looks like in real life.

Not perfect. Not extreme.

Just practical.

We’re learning to:

• cook more at home
• grow what we can
• raise chickens
• preserve food for the long term
• and be more intentional with what we have

Our Mediterranean-inspired home, Prominence Homestead of the Ozarks (PHOTO), is where we live this out and where we also host guests in our Mediterranean Rooftop Garden Retreat.

If you’ve ever wanted to step into a slower, more grounded way of living, you can actually come experience it here with us.

This page is where I share our journey.

Like what’s actually working, what’s not, and the small changes that make a home feel calm, capable, and intentional.

If that’s what you’re looking for… you’re in the right place.

From our Mediterranean-inspired home,
Prominence Homestead of the Ozarks-PHOTO,

Sometimes the smallest details create the deepest sense of peace. Amen!

On the balcony of our Rooftop Garden Suite, gentle wind chimes play the notes of Amazing Grace in the key of G. True! That's why I bought them.

I wrote many songs on this very balcony and these wind chimes have since added to its beauty.

When I'm outside and I look up, I often see guest perched on this little corner that faces east.

Many have told me it becomes their favorite place for morning coffee, prayer, journaling, or simply enjoying the Ozark mountain air.

Ozark Mountain Breeze is a song I wrote and as the breeze moves through the oak trees below this balcony, the melody quietly reminds us to slow down… breathe… and remember what matters most.

We designed Prominence Homestead as a place for rest, renewal, and reconnection with nature, with each other, and with what truly matters. For me, it's alone time with God and my thoughts.

If you are craving peace and calm, this space was created for you.

Dean and I have been busy and wanted to share our latest project at Prominence.

We fenced in our hot tub area and it turned out great! Even though the hot tub is an inflatable, it works like a charm. Our guest really love the private space and we do too.

As a side note:

As we've gotten older we find that we too are distracted by outside noise. Our phone calls, phone texts, and emails are constantly commanding our attention.

We've had this $379 hot tub for a year. It has by far been the best investment. It allows our guests private time together in a hot tub they might not otherwise be able to enjoy at home. And when they are not here, we are able to take advantage of it as well.

So if you're looking for an inexpensive way to spend quality time together, may I suggest an inflatable hot tub. It’s worth every dollar.

Enjoy!

Hello! I'm Angela Grace.

Here we will explore simple, practical ways to create a peaceful home environment, nourishing meals, and steady daily habits inspired by Mediterranean living.

In simple terms, timeless household wisdom.

I am living proof that is possible to create a way of living that feels more peaceful, more grounded, and more nourishing, even during uncertain times.

Here you'll find our personal journey and we'll use our Mediterranean-inspired home, Prominence Homestead of the Ozarks (PHOTO) as a backdrop:

Years ago my husband and I began hosting guests in our Mediterranean Rooftop Garden Retreat, a space designed to provide rest, inspiration, and a glimpse of a slower, more intentional way of living.

If you are seeking a more steady and intentional approach to home and daily life, you are in the right place.

Let me help you create a life that feels like a Mediterranean retreat, right at home.

Much love,

Angela Grace

Life has become loud, often rushed, overly complicated, and often uncertain.

Our diets feel confusing. Rest feels unattainable. Quiet moments are rare.

Prominence Homestead of the Ozarks exists as a reminder that it does not have to be this way.

We believe a slower way of living is not lazy at all; it can be restorative.

That whole food can be simple and nourishing without having to obsess over calories.

That quiet spaces matter.

That seasonal living brings order and peace back into our daily life.

This page is a place for those who are tired of the mundane and drawn to a calmer, more intentional way of living.

Don't wait to live. We're not.

Here we share food, home, and habits shaped by seasonal living and the natural pace of the Arkansas Ozarks.

Our adults only homestead retreat is a physical expression of this philosophy, and just like this space here, it is also for those wanting to learn about how to thrive in uncertain times (without fear).

If you are longing for community, more meaning in your life, and believe in hope, you are welcome here!

Stay awhile.

Love, from Prominence

Prominence Homestead's first 2026 Newsletter: Hello Everyone!

We all know that doing too much too fast is the biggest threat to couples that homestead. It can be detrimental to our health and our marriages.

As homesteaders, Dean and I are some of the hardest-working people you will ever meet. Actually, all homesteaders are hard working, willing to try something new while learning from others.

We all have struggled at times to find a balance.

That is exactly where we find ourselves in 2026. Almost burned out from all the holiday travel and work/life balance.

The Cure:

Dean and I have chosen to slow down a bit and take a day to rest weekly.

What brought this on you ask? Honestly, Charlie Kirk's book. Have you read Charlie Kirk's book on keeping the Sabbath Day Holy?

Charlie inspired a new desire for us to take our marriage and our business to the next level. I believe his last book might have actually brought us to our senses!

So, we have closed the Airbnb for the next 30 days to prioritize our marriage, work on healthy recipes, and just breathe.

Instead of dropping our Mediterranean Airbnb and homesteading altogether though, we are just taking a step back and looking at doing the one thing that will make the biggest impact on our lives: Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy at least for the next 30 days.

The hope is that as we do this, it will inspire us to keep the Sabbath Day Holy every weekend.

And on top of that, as with most people, Dean and I want to get healthier in 2026. So, taking the time to rest might just be the cure.

We do want to slowly add back in our new homesteading projects and goals. But, these do often change due to our getting older. We are learning so much about being in our 60's! Like it's okay to pivot!

While we might not know exactly what to do or how, God does. And as a caring Father, we know He would approve of us all celebrating a much needed day of rest!

So, while sustainability is important and we truly do care about wanting to live longer, maybe a day of rest once a week to reflect on God and what's important to us is exactly what God had in mind for His people when He said, "Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it Holy."

Conclusion:

We might enjoy this lifestyle but we must take time to rest, to cultivate our marriages, care for ourselves, and our families.

With that being said, we wish you a wonderful, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Love, From Prominence
Angela
