Rockingham Union 27 Rockingham Union No.27 is a Lodge of Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons in the 6th District of the Grand Lodge of Virginia. Founded in October 27, 1798.

Founded in 1789, Rockingham Union boasts over two centuries of improving the lives of its members and community through service and education. Rockingham Union has always been a home for local men of the highest quality. Many notable merchants, politicians, and farmers alike have found the close bonds of brotherhood within its walls. Thanks to all of our Brothers who showed up last night at Mt. Jackson Lodge No. 103 for a fantastic evening of fellowship! WB Albert (who is also a member of our Lodge) was presented with his official credentials as our District Instructor of Work, and RWB Wenger was elected by their members to be an honorary member along with RWB Ross from Hunter Lodge. Two more deserving individuals I cannot imagine.

We also heard a fantastic presentation by RWB Haas, Grand Senior Steward of the Grand Lodge, AF & AM, of Virginia that resonated with everyone in the room on some level. There was a lot of fun, but also a lot of reflection on our ideals.

There is also the small matter of us regaining the District 6 Traveling Gavel after it was absconded with by RWB Everett during his Official Reception at our Lodge in January. We look forward to seeing it move on soon as we have some great presentations for some of our upcoming stated communications.

We had a fantastic stated communication last evening. Kicking it off, we had Andrea Dono from Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance talk to us about their work in the community and how we can be involved. Many of our Brothers seemed interested in taking part in several ways!

Then, RW Ross Morland really stumped us a few times during Masonic Jeopardy. I think quite a few of us walked away realizing that maybe we need to be going to more degrees and paying more attention!

Thanks to everyone who came out for our first Lodge social event. We wanted to try something a little different and it turned out great! We all had a lot of fun and found out we have some pretty good bowlers in the group. We're already thinking about what our next outing should be. We're looking at axe throwing, escape rooms, miniature golf, and other options.

Hopefully we will see even more of our Brethren and their families at the next one!

Join us at our March stated communication on Monday where Andrea Dono from Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance will be talking to us about their mission and how we can support them and be partners to the downtown community we have called home for over 200 years.
