Checking on the cluckers and doing some spur-of-the-moment swamp logging. I was walking along the creek banks when I noticed that the water level had dropped 20 feet, revealing the old cypress stump from a once beautiful tree that my siblings and I used to swing on during summer days out into the cold waters of Black Creek, before Hurricane Hugo claimed the, likely, 100 year old Cypress. The stump has been submerged in black tanning waters for the last four decades but today i managed to pull it out of its clay packed creek bank bed using my truck. Now all I have do to is cut it into blanks/blocks to turn on my lathe to make gorgeous bowls, platters, coasters and charcuterie/cheese boards.
PS ... check out the knee giving me the finger.
