The Offshore boats took a day off today due to the rough water and thunderstorms. Inshore boats had Red Drum on the bite today. Bluefish catching was good too. Some boats released a few pretty Speckled Trout.

It was a nice morning with Offshore boats heading out to the blue water. They had a little choppy conditions offshore with a scattered Dolphin being caught with gaffers and bailers. They also had a few Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. Hatteras Fever released a Sailfish. Inshore boats caught Speckled Trout, Amberjack, A few Dolphin and a Wahoo.

A pretty morning turned into a pretty day and the Offshore fleet was out. They had scrappy fishing for the day. Some boats got onto some Dolphin, a few Blackfin Tuna and a Wahoo or two. Bite Me and Cuervos each released a Sailfish. Chaser released a White Marlin. Inshore boats had Bluefish on the line today. They also had a Shark or two, Amberjacks and Snapper.

Today is the sixth and final day of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. 255 boats fished today with 72 catches. The leading Blue Marlin caught is 919.09lbs. That was a tough lead to beat.

Release weighed in a 140lb. Yellowfin Tuna yesterday.

Inshore Fleet had a good day catching Red Drum and Sheepshead, Bluefish. Island Times anglers caught a 365lb Bull Shark.

Inshore fleet had a nice day on the water catching Bluefish and Red Drum.

Offshore fleet had a good day catching Dolphin, and a few Wahoo, and Barracudas.

James Donnelly released a Sailfish on the Native Son.
Kenny Ryan of NC caught a 40lb Dolphin on the Calypso.

Big Rock News

Today was Day 3 of the Big Rock Tournament, with 259 boats fishing. Anglers released 82 billfish and boated two.

The first fish brought to the scales was caught by Free Ranger and weighed 597 pounds. At the time of this report, the second boated fish had not yet arrived for weigh-in.

The big boats hit the blue water this morning. Most had their limits of Dolphin. Calypso released 2 Sailfish. Inshore boats had their limits of big Bluefish and a Cobia. They also had some Red Drum.

Today was day 2 of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. 210 boats fishing with 65 catches. The leading Blue Marlin caught by Marlin Fever weighed in at 919.9 lbs. to receive a check for over $800,000 on the spot. A record breaking Blue Marlin for the Big Rock. The total purse is $9,038,225 for this tournament.

Several Offshore boats headed out to the blue water this morning. They had choppy conditions but it didn't keep the Dolphin from biting. They had both Gaffers and bailers in their catch. They also had a Wahoo and a few Blackfin Tuna. Sea Creature released a Blue Marlin and Release released a White Marlin. Inshore boats had good catches of Bluefish and Red Drum.



It was the first day of the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament. It opened with 278 boats entered. 219 boats fished today with 73 catches.
