Got the pleasure of watching 12 week old Nala retrieve a rooster shot over her today. This was at the end of the day after she worked each stretch like a pro. Awesome! Still have a couple of her siblings looking for a new home.

If you havent had the thrill of hunting rabbits with beagles, put it on your list. Awesome! Thank you Barry, Chuck, Dan, and Gary for coming out and bringing your companions (Beagles - Short, Freddy, Joey, and Todd - Pointing lab Josie from Alcorn's Hunter Haven, and Large Munsterlander Max) to hunt with us. Had a fantastic time hunting rabbits/pheasants with a great group of guys and dogs, and thank you to Barry for the following Testimonial.

Just got home after 5 days of hunting with Zac and Brandon. After our September of 2024 hunt and a talk with Zac, we added a little twist to Lab Land, BEAGLES! Last year Zac said that they had lots of rabbits. I said " Oh really!" I called Zac last spring and we booked this hunt. A buddy from Montana brought a dog he had bought from Zac and a buddy from CA brought his Large Munsterlander. I took my 4 beagles, and the rest is history. Pheasant and rabbit combo. Day one was slow with poor conditions, but the rest of the week was great. Half days pheasants and the other half day rabbits. We even killed a few roosters that were moved by the beagles. Zac wasn't kidding, they got rabbits! Zac and Brandon hadn't experienced the sound and excitement of a pack of beagles in hot pursuit of a shifty cottontail. Zac's smile after all four opened up on the first jump, "Priceless!" I told him it was going to get noisy. Non stop running. Jump after jump, race after race. I think we flushed roosters on all but maybe one or two walks. There were lots of birds. I lost track of how many roosters and rabbits we took, but there were plenty of both. Donna, last years cook, had retired and Brandon's wife McKenzie replaced her. Her enthusiastic gregarious personality along with her skills in the kitchen made her an outstanding addition to the lodge team. McKenzie didn't miss a beat. The meals were outstanding, bag lunches perfect and the deserts were spectacular. Great guys, relaxed atmosphere, 1st class accommodations and plenty of game make for a great experience. I have been to Alcorn's Hunter Haven twice and both trips were outstanding. The saying " If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" certainly applies here. Thanks again

Had a great time hunting grouse with this group. Thanks for coming out. Here is what Barry had to say. Just got home after 3 days of hunting sharptails with Zac and Brandon. Everything was 1st class. Accommodations, meals, dogs, and lots of birds, We had crazy hot weather (90's) and still had an awesome time! As with all upland hunts, the guides and the dogs make the hunt! Zac and Brandon are great guys. Each days outing went as smooth as possible. The coordination/cooperation between Zac, Brandon and Kate, Shadow, and Max were spot on. If you think your going to go home a little leaner from all the walking, that's probably not going to happen. Donna can lay down a spread! The meals were simple but "perfect." Her deserts and morning treats ended the meal and started the day just right. Great trip! Thanks a lot!

Had a good Spring turkey season. It was challenging with the consistent wind and rain but still successful. Thank you all for coming and sorry….
