The old fire pit- thing served admirably over the last 2 years but it was time to do something more permanent and less susceptible to the elements. Also a lesson learned about managing one of these things. Replaceable things that can be swapped for permanent solutions is always a project worth doing

If you boat around Round Lake, and you totally should, you'll see a lot of pretty impressive places. Most of these have done some pretty extensive landscaping in the front yard as well, which looks great but comes at the cost of the trees and foliage that naturally grow by the water. It also comes at the cost of your privacy, definitely not a problem at this place. The man who designed and built this wonderful place wanted it that way and appreciated the understated look it created from the water. This is such a meaningful part of the experience of staying here, you feel like you have the area all to yourself. And when you stand on the deck and look out, you lose none of the views that people come for. Come stay, bring a boat or rent our own and you'll be glad you did.

This is Ernie. Our family rescued him over the winter and this is his FIRST-EVER boat ride, with some beef and cheese snackies, no less. The pontoon is now in the water and running great, available for rent to all our guests at The House on Round. With a couple bars/restaurants on beautiful Round Lake, no better way to enjoy lake life in style than cruising around the water on this fine vessel. šŸ¦®
