Edit 1:03 12/17 - As stated we will update lake conditions as we get closer to the 12/25 date. It was now updated LCO does not have as much ice as other lakes so that lake (LCO/Grindstone) will not be staked by 12/25.

Hello Riders!!! Trail Update as of 12/17

Last night we had our monthly Alliance and Trail Captain meeting. It was great to have all the pros in the room together reporting where each club trails are at.

As you have all seen and been so supportive of our volunteers and business owners have really kicked it up a notch and have been working day and night, weekdays and weekends, below 0 temps and just barely above! We have had some amazing supporters come out and help on the trails, donate their equipment, fuel, food, their professional crews. What a community to be apart of!! 🙌

So down to the nitty gritty, trails are shaping up amazing for December 17th! It’s been a long time since we had a nice early winter and we are loving it! However the work still continues. The majority of trails have been cleared and are passable but having over 600 miles of trails with damage makes for some work. All of the main corridors and many side trails are cleared and passable. Now that all gun hunting is over many gates to private property are being opened the end of this week/weekend. Some that lead to lakes and swamps that aren’t safe yet will continue to be closed until those lakes/swamps are safe. Crews will continue to clean side trails and pan through the weekend and into early next week.

🧊Lakes: Of course structures, size, depth, water flow, dams, all affect the readiness of a lake so not all are ready at the same time but with our conditions they are shaping up nicely with similar conditions. Crews will be working on staking the Chipp Flowage through the weekend (check out their new cones and staking alternatives in past post!). Most other lakes the tentative plan is they will be staked next week by Christmas as some are very close but just not quite ready and need a little more time. Better safe than sorry.

What does this all mean? This means all trails will plan to be ready and rideable Christmas Day!!! This is a first in a long time!!! Of course we will update the very beginning of next week as we check lakes one more time just to confirm those lakes still progress as we plan.
