Dear Friends, Guests, and Lovers of this special place-
Our journey as stewards of Spider Lake Lodge began eight years ago when we undertook what was an intense labor of love to restore what had been lost. We went well beyond just the minimal repairs and saved The Lodge from falling into the lake and its history being lost forever. The Lodge had suffered a major decline resulting in rotting timbers, sagging and listing foundation, and while all natural signs of aging, required major attention. We partnered with restoration specialists to give The Lodge much needed care and to allow us to celebrate its 100th Anniversary with many of you. The meticulous restoration found us as recipients of The National Historic Registry designation, something what will last well beyond our time with The Lodge.
The best part of this journey has been getting to know each of you, your stories, your connection with The Lodge, and sharing it with new generations. We could not have done this without the support and legacy of so many who have loved The Lodge, starting with the Moody’s, and carried on by many others like The Grossis and The Oatmans. We stand upon your shoulders as those who have tended to this gem. Along the way we were fortunate to partner with folks who love The Lodge as much as we do, DeLise and Kurt, Andrew and Caroline, and all of you.
Recently, a unique opportunity presented itself and we have accepted an offer by interested buyers to purchase The Lodge for use as a private residence, and thus ends our time as stewards and our time with you. We will always carry a part of Spider Lake Lodge with us, as we know you will too. It is now time for the next part of the legacy that is Spider Lake Lodge.
