Morwood Annual Cook-off Rules
2026 is BEEF!!!
1) All meat must be brought in unopened and unprepared to Ray and needs to be checked in by 8 pm on June 19th.
No brines, rubs, injections, pre-cooking, or manipulations. If evidence of such is found, you are disqualified.
2) Meat prep may begin as soon as Ray checks in the meat.
3) Entries need to be in the office within 5 minutes of 5 pm on June 20th, or you will be disqualified (4:55-5:05)
4) Meat must be placed in a container with enough meat for 3 people.
5) You, as the cook, must provide all needed supplies (except the Judging box). Cooking may be done by pellet smokers, wood, charcoal, or LP gas—NO electric grills, roasters, crockpots, or fryers. Roasters/Crockpots may be used to keep the meat warm.
6) All prep and cooking must be done at your campsite (periodic check-ins will be done).
7) Judging will take place in the SE room of the office.
8)A 3-person scorecard system will do judging. Cards will be tallied, and the winner announced within 2 hours of judging completion.
9) The cook-off is open to all seasonal and weekend campers.
10) You will be judged on meat temp (must be within the recommended temp for the meat chart), appearance, tenderness, moisture, and taste.
11) You can have 2 entries per campsite.
