This is an update from the NPS web site concerning this years road lottery.

2021 Lottery Details
August 26, 2021 note: The landslide at Pretty Rocks (approximately Mile 44 on the road) has caused the cancellation of the 2021 Road Lottery and 2021 Military Appreciation Day. Learn more about the cancellation of road lottery.

Instead, from September 17 until snow closes the Denali Park Road, any visitor may drive to Mile 30, Teklanika River. The only cost is that of the usual park entrance fee. This is how the fall season (after Road Lottery) works each year - so in essence, fall is just starting a bit early this year.

Visitors may walk or bike farther west from Mile 30. However, all traffic on the road will be prohibited west of Mile 42, so overnight cycling trips to the far western end of the road will not really be possible in fall 2021.
