This picture was taken at the end of the summer. We had the house and deck painted last year and opened up even more of the large back yard for more lawn area.
We're already booking for 2026. We have lots of tips and suggestions for you for the Denali area and Denali National Park.
We start our 38th year hosting guests. One 2026 future guest just said after booking with us, "We are getting excited (about Alaska) which is really a pain because it's so far off." The time will fly.

It's -36 degrees currently with a lot of snow. We wish you a healthy New Year!

If the Northern Lights are out, you will be able to see them from the front and back yards at A Second Home in Denali. Then come back inside and warm up at the pellet stove.

We have another property in Denali which is a traditional bed and breakfast with cooked to order breakfasts served in our dining room. With this article we get to represent Alaska with the Dome. Look under Alaska to see our photo and information. What an honor!

While big chains and business hotels have their place, you can't beat a good old-fashioned bed and breakfast.

Mt. Denali's name was changed, and you can still see the name change on older maps as Mt. McKinley. Now we're back to calling the highest mountain in North America by its original name: Denali! We went to Australia this year on a grandchild trip. There we learned Ayers Rock's REAL name is Uluru.

We are shoveling ice from the porch, moving furniture and deep cleaning at A Second Home for the 2022 season. Our calendar is getting full and we are expecting visitors soon.

Not yet...but in about 6 weeks, we will be seeing new Denali babies in the neighborhood. We are seeing the very last of Northern Lights now. Every season has something to offer here in the Interior of Alaska.

On a good, clear, starry night, you are able to see Northern Lights from the front and back yards of a Second Home in Denali. This happened last week.
