Salvation Army Southwest 🌵 Camp Ponderosa Ranch celebrated its inaugural season in June, 1999. A.C.

The camp, located on 150 acres just 1 1/2 miles west of Heber, Arizona, serves youth and adults throughout the Southwest Division (Arizona; New Mexico; and Clark County, Nevada). A. (American Camping Association) accredited, Camp Ponderosa Ranch, is located in the White Mountains of Northern Arizona. 2.5 hours from the heat of the Phoenix valley. Each year hundreds of campers experience this uniqu

e place, where caring staff promote a safe haven of learning and interacting with peers, nestled in God’s nature. The camp is spread across 150 acres of land, providing ample space for just about every activity under the sun or stars.

Huge shoutout to BeanandBailey for bringing their talent and making the trip up to the Mogollon Rim! 🏔️

Lots of laughs, good reminders, sound teaching, and a whole lot of fun… but most importantly, we all left knowing way more about possums than we ever expected to. 🤭😂

Who knew a weekend of good teaching and fellowship would also come with a possum education?!

And just like that, we wrapped up the final session of The Salvation Army’s Southwest Division Men’s Camp this morning, bringing an incredible weekend retreat to a close.

What a meaningful time of fellowship, encouragement, and connection. We’re grateful for everyone who showed up, participated, and helped make this weekend so special.

A week-long training?! Together?! In Phoenix?!

SAY LESS ✅

This week, we (the Camp Director and Office & Communications Liaison) are completing Protecting the Mission (PTM) Consultant training!

PTM is The Salvation Army’s abuse prevention program, designed to help keep children, elders, and vulnerable adults safe in our programs and ministry settings. This training equips us with the knowledge and tools to help make camp a safer place for everyone we serve. Once certified, we will also be able to assist with conducting PTM assessments at other Salvation Army programs throughout the division 📋

We are so thankful for the opportunity to participate in this training and to be taught by such wise and kind instructors.

Special shoutout to our Divisional PTM Coordinator for being willing to make a special appearance in our video. 😂
