The Hütte is reopening for the 2026 season.

After a long and much-needed winter pause that is deeply appreciated, we’re grateful to be opening Thursdays–Saturdays, 12pm–6pm, beginning next Thursday, May 14.

Call 304-924-6435 to make reservations.

We’ll be sharing our menu and any updates over the coming week, so stay tuned.

We'll be open in honor of the Pickens Maple Syrup Festival March 20 and 21. Please go have pancakes and support the event, then come down to Helvetia for some lunch or dinner.

We'll post more soon, but we will be open on Friday, March 20 (reservations welcome - 304-924-6435) and Saturday, March 21, first come first serve. After dinner, go to the dance up the street from 7-10pm and win yourself a cake and a few waltzes.

Join us for an old-fashioned evening of music, dancing, and sweet fun at the Helvetia Star Band Hall in celebration of the Pickens, West Virginia Maple Syrup Festival.

This will simplify some of the planning and work for our community volunteers as they hold some of our beloved events. Please consider a donation to the pavilion project.

We hope you enjoyed Fasnacht. Happy Ash Wednesday!

If you loved Fasnacht, whether you grabbed a wristband or simply wandered into the vendors and masquerade, or if you just love Helvetia and want to see it thrive, we’d like to invite you to help build something lasting.

The Helvetia Community Fair Association and the Helvetia Restoration & Development Organization are raising funds for a post-and-beam pavilion over the meadow stage. It will be a permanent shelter for dances, music, performances, and gatherings through every season.

It will mean fewer tent rentals, protection from weather, better sound, and a beautiful covered space the whole community can share.

Our hope is to celebrate next year’s Fair and parts of Fasnacht beneath its roof.

We’re raising $10,000 to pair with grants and local volunteer labor. If you’d like to be part of building it, we’d be grateful for your support.

It's almost time for Fasnacht!

On Saturday, February 14 in celebration of this fun local tradition, we'll be serving the Swiss Sampler Plate on a first come first serve basis on from 12-7pm. We will also be open Friday for reservations from 12-6pm serving from our menu. If you want to dine on Friday, call 304-924-6435 to make a reservation. No reservations are accepted Saturday. We are closed Sunday and will be temporarily closed for the winter after that. Hope to see you soon. Stay warm!

We're preparing fresh soups and ingredients for delicious sandwiches for this Saturday's holiday festivities. Come see us from 12-6pm as you participate in the Feast of Saint Nicholas and Christmas Market. If you'd like to make a reservation, we'd appreciate them (especially for parties of 4 or more). 304-924-6435.

We are now closed for the winter season, with a few exceptions:

• Saturday, December 6 – Feast of Saint Nicholas & Old-Fashioned Christmas Market
• Friday & Saturday, February 13-14 - Fasnacht
• Friday & Saturday, March 20-21 - Maple Syrup Festival

As hunting season begins, please remember to hunt safely, respect our forests and wildlife, and care for one another.

So there you have it, our first winter storm!

We’re grateful to welcome our season of rest, that also means this weekend will be our last full weekend open for the year.

We can’t thank you enough for making 2025 such a wonderful season. This year we welcomed over 4,900 guests and served:

🥖 418 sausage sandwiches
🥩 359 Sauerbraten dinners
🍑 702 peach cobblers
…and much more!

(Thanks to a few small modernizations, we can now actually pull data like this. It's interesting and fun!)

We’ll be open again on Saturday, December 6 for the Feast of Saint Nicholas & the Old-Fashioned Christmas Market, serving soups and sandwiches. Come in from the cold and visit us that day!
