Beta Sigma Phi - Laureate Tau Chapter Beta Sigma Phi is an International Womens' friendship network. We are the largest organization of it Beta Sigma Phi was created out of this need.

In 1931, during the Great Depression, there was a need for an organization that could bring women together and expose them to a social, cultural and educational climate that was not available in those difficult times. Most important, there was a need for friendship and support from other women. It did not take long before Beta Sigma Phis were helping others. Members worked together to raise $22 mi

llion in war bonds during World War II. The 1950s brought peace and prosperity to the world, and Beta Sigma Phi membership doubled. This era was filled with grand balls, elegant teas and the growing strength of sisterhood as thousands of women joined Beta Sigma Phi. As the times have changed, so has Beta Sigma Phi. The 1960s and 1970s found our organization less formal, but the ideals were the same. Now in the 21st Century, our over 165,000 members find the more we grow, the more valuable we become to our sisters and to our communities. The Beta Sigma Phi woman will continue to face challenges and cherish opportunities as she moves into the future. Typical chapters enjoy socials that range from informal gatherings to gala affairs that often include friends and family. Fascinating cultural programs offer insight into subjects that range from the arts to gardening to in-home businesses. Membership in our organization provides opportunities to contribute to your community, develop lifelong friendships, and polish leadership skills. Our members raise more than $3 million for local charities and donate over 200,0000 volunteer hours in an average year. Each chapter determines its own service projects and participation is always voluntary. Chapters have created their own International Funds that donate millions of dollars to health research groups, hunger projects, and other worthwhile causes. Members and their families can receive assistance through our International Loan, Scholarship and Disaster Funds. What Makes Us Unique? Our sisterhood constantly redefines itself through the diversity and vitality of its members who share their ideas, talents and enthusiasm. Our Chapter's 2022 Christmas social.
Held at Jacque's home. Our hostesses were Bernie O. and Kathy. We all kinds of hors d'oeuvres to munch on. Along with couple of cakes and cookies for dessert and a very yummy Christmas punch. We played two around of Left, Right, Center. Our winners were Dave and Bob.

November Social....We attended City of Henderson Veterans Day Ceremony to celebrated and honor our veterans. This year was extra special as one of our sister's, Gina's late husband Steve, his name was added to the Memorial Wall and Gina recieved a certificate. Wonder speaker Colonel Cameron Dadger outgoing Commander of the Nevada Test and Training Range. Again a wonderful musical tribute to the Armed Forces by the Henderson Symphony Orchestra. Basic HS ROTC presentation of the colors. Afterwards we went out to lunch at the new burger place on Water Street...Streetburger it was very good. We all had a wonderful time. Been our annual Nov. Social for the last 17 yrs. Most of us are daughters, wives or mothers of a veteran.

OCT Social....Octoberfeast
Our hostesses Debra and Barbara. Held a Barbara's home. Lots of delious German food and desserts. Had a wonderful Hard Apple Cider punch. Tim, Donni and Rose names were drawn for the door prizes and we all enjoyed played Left Right Center game. Winners were Tim and Donni. All had a great time. Thanks to our wonderful cooks Deb and Barb.

Are September social was a spa weekend in Mesquite Nevada. We stayed at the CasaBlanca Resort. We drove up Friday afternoon and came back Sunday afternoon. Saturday morning we went the pool and then after couple of hours later to the spa for massages. We felt so good and relaxed after that. Back to room to get ready for dinner and a night of dancing and listening to some good rock and roll music. We all had a great time.

Our first meeting of the year held at Michelle's home. Hostesses were Michelle and Bernie L. We celebrated our Chapter 23rd birthday. Few of our sisters recieved SS Gifts. We discussed our Sept Social its a Spa weekend in Mesquite along with our Service we will be doing this year. We will be supporting UNLV Food Bank and Catholic Charities Food Bank to help those in need.
