December 2025 Update: Hola - Greetings from Spain! The day before our departure for our Christmas vacation a contract to purchase Yonderways was brokered. We will be closing on January 12th. Unfortunately the new owners will no longer continue to rent The Acorn. So, this is a farewell post.

Keith and I would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for your encouragement and patronage over the years. We cherish all of you and the memories we take with us. We're selling to be closer to our family in South Carolina as well as to be less constrained by homestead responsibilities. Homesteading is a younger couples game. The day is officially here. Keith and I are retiring and as much as we are torn to leave this incredible holler in the Appalachian Blue Ridge rainforest, it’s time to find younger stewards to continue the heritage of this homestead. It has been our honor and pleasure (and blood, sweat and tears) to lovingly restore this 83 year old cabin and the surrounding landscape.

This 2526 square feet Single Family home has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It is located at 1161 Crab Creek Rd, Hendersonville, NC.

For all who have not heard, this past December Keith and I made a life-changing decision, and we're still wrestling with it today...but we will be selling our beloved Yonderways located in a simple holler in the Appalachian temperate rainforest of Pisgah. Being stewards of this property has been one of the biggest blessings and honors of our lives, and is truly a chapter of our lives that we will cherish forever. But honoring the land to its fullest glory is a younger man's game, and with very mixed emotions, we're choosing to move on to a physically easier lifestyle. A lifestyle that we envision will be filled with traveling before we're too old to enjoy ourselves. Be on the lookout for a "Last Hoorah" discount code, that we will be honoring through May 1st. We would be honored if you are able to visit us one more time! We are hoping the new stewards will continue sharing Yonderways via The Acorn and we will keep you posted. And then there was one.....Bebe - we will miss your diva spirit. You ruled the Hamlet and we loved you for your sassy spirit. You were truly one of a kind and the holler was blessed to house you for 6 years. Shucks is getting a bit feeble, but still hanging in.
