“Why can’t ranchers just raise more cattle?”

It’s a fair question—especially when beef prices are high and the American cattle herd is at historically low levels.

But cattle aren’t something you can simply produce more of overnight. Building the herd back up takes time, land, feed, breeding decisions, and a whole lot of patience.

Swipe through for a look at why rebuilding the American cattle herd isn’t as simple as “just raise more cattle.” 🐂

And as we sit back and reflect on it all, we’re grateful.

Need something to hunt while you wait on deer season? 👀🐗

Feral hogs are prolific, destructive, and never seem to take a day off. They can reproduce year-round and quickly put pressure on pastures, crops, and wildlife habitat.

Might as well put that time in the field to good use.

Hog hunts are booking at Boddy Ranch!

It takes more than grass and sunshine.

A lot of ranching happens in the moments most people never see. From checking cattle to providing preventative care, every decision is made with the health and well-being of the herd in mind. Good cattle care starts with attention to the details.

90% of our camera roll is filled with cattle, but we're not mad about it. 🤠
