Starting at 2:00 PM at the Hermann Wine and Jazz Festival, the velvety smooth jazz classics will emanate from the Augusta Jazz Quartet.
Columbia, MO born and Glasgow, MO raised. Augusta is known to always be singing at any opportunity she can find. Augusta started playing the saxophone at age 11. But that wasn’t enough, so she went on to work all summer and purchased her first electric bass at 14. Since then, she has been creating and testing her abilities with sound and music. Augusta writes original music on bass guitar (upright/electric), piano, guitar, ukulele and vocals. Since August 2020, she began studying with Loyd Warden, the owner of A-Frame recording / Percussion Logic LLC. He has helped to guide her studies and explain the early styles of Jazz, Blues, Soul, etc.
Currently she is working on her ensemble with some of Loyd Warden's students, Samuel Luetkemeyer on the keys and Trevor Phillippe on the saxophone, and they have been able to re-create timeless classics in our modern world and can’t wait to share! Find "Augusta Cooper" on FB.
