19 boats and almost 50 anglers took off at 7 am with a shotgun start from Hessel Marina! The competition for the $500 first place will be fierce. Come down at 1pm to the Marina to watch the weigh in and presentation of the cash prizes to the 5 top teams, and anglers with largest bass.

Michigan Sea Grant is once again hosting its annual spring Fisheries Workshop series and the one addressing LCI topics will be held Tonight at the community center in Cedarville from 6-8PM!

There will be presentations from State and Federal Researchers and fishery managers on Yellow Perch, Cormorants, and more. There will also be some presentations about the St. Marys River.

Ice Out!!

The brutal winds of the last couple days finally broke up Hessel Bay! Plenty of icebergs still floating around, and it’s still frozen around the dock, but the next wind change should fix that. What a great feeling, the first day of LCI Boating season is here!
