From News Channel 20: It's official! Springfield recorded a high temperature of 100° on Wednesday afternoon. It's the first triple-digit high since July 31, 2012. This makes it 5146 days since our last 100° reading. Crazy stat!

We were also just 1° shy of the record high of 101° in 2011.

Stay safe everyone! Black flag weather like this must be taken seriously!

Casting call for Abraham Lincoln Council Productions summer blockbuster!

Abraham Lincoln Council Productions is announcing that casting for summer camp 2027 has begun! Producer Kyle Holtgrave is looking for the right people to work with our Director, Robbart Koutstaal in a variety of on-screen roles. Kyle also needs crew members to work with him behind the scenes supporting the production. This summer’s full-length feature will include drama on the high seas of Lake Freesen, tense competition at the O K Corral, and high angle challenges on the climbing tower!

Summer Camp 2027 will feature an ensemble cast led by Robbart. Lead characters are needed to coordinate various activity areas. Supporting cast will have the opportunity to animate roles in multiple departments. Whether is lifeguarding on the waterfront or tying knots in Outdoor Skills, Summer Camp 2027 needs a variety of cast members to bring the production to life!

Kyle also needs production crew members to support our cast and connect with our movie audience! Whether it’s in the catering department or health and safety, there are plenty of roles behind the scenes roles that need to be filled. Future cast members can also be a part of the production crew by learning about all aspects of summer camp productions.

Summer Camp 2027 to be filmed on location at beautiful Camp Bunn, home of many indigenous flora and fauna, a growing family of eagles, and the best camp caretaker one could ask for - DOC!!!

We want to send a HUGE thank you to Sonneborn Bros for their generous donation of materials, equipment, and trucks to help us repair the road here at Camp Bunn!

A good road is something most people don’t think about until they need one. Here at camp, our roads take a beating from heavy rain, storms, and the thousands of vehicles that travel through Camp Bunn each year.

Thanks to their generosity we were able to put much-needed material down and get the road back into shape. Their donation of both the material and trucks made a tremendous difference.

This is what community support looks like. Businesses and people step up, lend a hand, and help make sure our camp remains a place where Scouts, families, volunteers, and visitors can safely enjoy the outdoors.

From all of us at Camp Bunn, THANK YOU! We truly appreciate your support of Scouting and our camp.

Interested in working at Camp Bunn next summer? The staff application is live and ready to take your information! Age 14 and older can apply to be a Counselor In Training. Instructors age 15 and older are needed as well. Some pre-camp training modules are required, ,not to mention Safeguarding Youth for staff and volunteers who are 18 or older. The summer season is June 13 - July 3. Lifeguards and other special certifications are a plus (literally on the pay scale!) Interviews will be held this fall. Leave a note if you have questions!
