We love Hiawassee, Georgia!!

Two of the prettiest little towns in the North Georgia mountains sit just a short drive apart, and both will make you want to pack up and move to the hills. ⛰️ Blairsville, the seat of Union County, and Hiawassee, the seat of Towns County, each have their own loyal crowd that will tell you theirs is the best.

Blairsville gives you that classic mountain courthouse square, the gateway to Brasstown Bald, and some of the best fall color you will find anywhere in the state. 🍁 Hiawassee sits right on the shore of beautiful Lake Chatuge with the mountains rising up behind it, home of the Georgia Mountain Fair and sunsets that stop you in your tracks.

Both towns slow way down this time of year and let the Blue Ridge show off. You truly cannot go wrong with either one. But you know us, we always have to ask. 😄

So settle it for us. Blairsville or Hiawassee, which North Georgia mountain town wins your heart?

The Georgia Forestry Commission just released their latest Leaf Watch, and the colors are starting to pop. We are already seeing gorgeous hints of red, orange, and yellow creeping across the ridges right here in Hiawassee.

Whether you want to escape for a quiet, romantic weekend right now to enjoy the early season colors, or you want to secure your favorite suite for the projected peak weekends in late October and early November, you need to act fast!

Join us at Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens for an evening of live original music featuring Sam Lewis & Amelia White!

The w**e & b**r garden and food trucks open at 5pm, music begins at 6pm, and admission is FREE. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, relax with friends, and enjoy another beautiful evening in the gardens!
