Recently Myra LeMay was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect and will need open-heart surgery at the end of May. While some heart defects can be repaired with less invasive procedures, Myra’s condition requires open-heart surgery to repair two holes in her heart. She will undergo surgery and recovery at Children’s Mercy, where she is expected to stay for 5–7 days.

While Myra is incredibly brave, this journey will bring emotional and financial challenges for her family.
