🎄 There’s nothing like waking up on Christmas morning in the mountains just outside of Highlands (hopefully with a little snow on the ground) and wondering just which chimney Santa came down. ☃️

Our family vacation home, Lotts of Sky, is available this Christmas, December 19–26. The entire estate includes the main house and carriage house, with room for 16 to spread out. It will be decorated for Christmas, right down to the holiday china. We encourage you to bring your favorite ornaments to hang on the tree and your stockings to hang by one of the four fireplaces. 🔥

During Christmas week there is plenty to do in Highlands: ice skating in Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park, snow tubing at Highlands Outpost, a stroll along Main Street to see the Christmas lights, and handmade gifts at The Bascom’s Holiday Market. Arriving early on December 19? Santa will be in the park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nearby Sapphire Valley also offers skiing and snowboarding, conditions permitting. Check holiday hours before heading out. ⛷️

Christmas in Highlands is calling.

We have one November weekend left at Lotts of Sky: Nov 19–22. We are offering our Facebook friends 10% off for that stay.

Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve are booked, but Christmas week is still open. The house will be decorated, the fireplaces will be going, and Highlands is at its prettiest that time of year.

The quieter days between Thanksgiving and Christmas are a wonderful time to come—Main Street is decorated, the ice skating rink is open, and town feels festive without the crowds.

Lotts of Sky is our family mountain house four miles from Main Street in Highlands: four bedrooms plus a loft, room for up to 14, four fireplaces, a hot tub, a game room, and room for the dogs too.

Fall dates are open in Highlands. 🍂🏔️

Lotts of Sky is our family home between Highlands and Cashiers, four miles from Main Street. September still has room — Sep 8–11, Sep 14–17, and a full week Sep 20–28 — and for leaf season we have Oct 12–15 and Oct 25–29. Color on the plateau usually turns through the middle and back half of October; both windows sit inside it.

Main house sleeps 14 across 4 bedrooms and a loft: 3 king suites, a bunk room built for kids, hot tub, four stone fireplaces, wrap-around porches, and a wifi-free game room with ping pong, foosball, billiards and corn hole. You can hear Big Creek from every porch. Dog friendly.

Whiteside Mountain, Glen Falls, Sunset Rock and Panthertown are all within about ten miles, so this is the base for a hiking week when the leaves are down or still turning.

Looking further out: November and early December now take two-night stays Monday through Thursday, so Nov 9–23 and Nov 30 on work for a midweek escape without burning a week of vacation.
