🇺🇸 Today we remember the heroes who gave everything for our freedom.

From the open road to peaceful places to gather with family, freedoms like these came at a price many were willing to pay. Today at Trails End RV Park, we pause to honor the brave men and women who never made it home. ❤️

May we never forget their sacrifice, their courage, and the families who carry their memory every day.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13 🇺🇸🙏

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day. 🙏

🌿 A little glimpse of the future home of Trails End RV Park 🤎 Still under construction… but getting closer every day.

Today we explored the property, found a couple of young trees, and the prettiest little wildflowers blooming out here along the trail. 🌻🌱

Funny how nature reminds us that the best things are never rushed.
Tiny seeds become beautiful flowers, but only after time, rain, sunshine, and patience. Big dreams are built one step, one road, and one day at a time. 🤎

Hopefully we’ll be welcoming y’all soon…
Come for the day or come to stay.

Texas Trail Legends

The Story of John Wesley Hardin Born near Bonham in 1853, John Wesley Hardin was the son of a Methodist preacher and schoolteacher — but his story would become anything but peaceful.

In the rough days of frontier Texas, Hardin became known as one of the fastest guns in the West… and a man with an equally fast temper. Stories of his quick draw spread across cattle trails, saloons, and dusty Texas towns faster than a prairie wildfire.

Some said he could outdraw almost anyone who challenged him. Others believed his temper was just as dangerous as the pistol on his hip.

The Wild West wasn’t polished Hollywood history back then — it was harsh, unpredictable, and often violent. And Hardin became one of the names people either feared… or never forgot.

Love him or hate him, his legend still rides through Texas history today, carried by old stories, frontier lore, and the spirit of the untamed trail.

Every trail has a story…
Come for the day or come to stay. Welcome to the trail.

You don’t have to wait for vacation to feel it. Make every day a little getaway.

Sunsets. Quiet mornings. Simple laughs.
That’s where the real memories live.

Because ordinary moments… become extraordinary

Some places you pass through… others you remember.

Today, we remember.

On April 21, 1836, the Battle of San Jacinto changed everything. In just 18 minutes, a small but determined Texian army secured freedom and shaped the future of Texas forever.

It wasn’t just a victory… it was courage, grit, and faith in something bigger.

Out here, not far from where history was made, that spirit still lives on—in the land, in the stories, and in the people who call Texas home.

Today we honor the heroes who stood their ground…
and the legacy they left behind.

🇨🇱 Happy San Jacinto Day, y’all.

Come for the day… or come to stay.

This well-known 1910 photograph shows a lone cowboy and his horse resting on a grassy hill overlooking a valley in Bonham, Texas. Captured in the closing years of the American frontier, it stands as a quiet reflection of a fading lifestyle as modernization began reshaping the West.

The image is often credited to Erwin E. Smith, a Bonham native who spent much of his career documenting the everyday life and rugged environments of working cowboys. Its calm, reflective tone highlights the strong connection between rider and horse.

Today, the photograph is widely preserved and reproduced in historical archives, valued as a lasting symbol of Texas ranching heritage and the spirit of the Old West.
