For those that do not know, the special use permit for Forest Recreation Management (FRM) with the Black Hills National Forest expires on December 31, 2025. We have enjoyed working with the Forest over the past 26 years and have been blessed with providing recreational experiences for countless campers, picnickers, kayakers, hikers, swimmers, and others that have visited the beautiful Black Hills. We have managed the campgrounds, day-use areas, picnic sites, swim beaches, and boat launches for over two decades, likely hosting generations of families. And working with the Forest, we have replaced toilets, repaired facilities, added kayak launches, updated campgrounds, replaced picnic tables, and enhanced numerous areas. Our goal has always been to impress the public by maintaining Forest facilities to the best of our ability. Nonetheless, our time has come to an end, and we graciously step away from the permit process in 2026.
Since FRM is no longer managing sites next year, the half-price sale for our seasonal passes will not take place in early December … like past years. We suspect the new concessionaire will also have a seasonal pass, but we believe this will not be made available until a selection has been made by the Forest. We appreciate your business in this regard. Over the years, we have sold tens of thousands of seasonal passes, especially to our local enthusiasts. We hope your love for the Forest continues, and we wish the new concessionaire nothing but success into the future. As for right now, we simply wanted to alert everyone about the lack of annual passes in early December, and we hope you can help us spread the word to your family and friends.
Once again, thank you for your business and support over the years. We will miss hosting your weekend get-aways and your family vacations. Until next time, best wishes with your outdoor adventures, and remember to and .
