Landscape Enhancements Underway at Coligny Circle
A series of landscape enhancements is now underway to increase safety, improve visibility, and further beautify the Coligny Circle area, including Coligny Beach Park’s parking lot and Lagoon Road.

Work began Aug.17 - to be completed by September. Residents and visitors are encouraged to stay alert in work zones and can look forward to a safer, more attractive Coligny Circle this fall.

Islanders Beach Improvements to Enhance Safety, Accessibility and Amenities
The Town is moving forward with site improvements at Islanders Beach Park, located at 92 Folly Field Road. Plans will require close access to the park from Sept. 8,2026, - May 31, 2027, to perform work. The goal is to make Islanders Beach Park safer, more accessible, and welcoming for everyone, especially residents.

Beaufort Before Britain: How Beaufort was Placed on European World Maps

As we celebrate 250 years of independence from Great Britain, think about this: 250 years BEFORE the American Revolution, Europeans visited and indelibly inked our Beaufort home on the world map. Beaufort County commemorates the 500th anniversary of documented European presence on August 18th.

Beaufort’s “Saint Helena” joins “La Florida” as the oldest European place names in continuous use on the North American continent. Hilton Head Just Broke Its Record For Sea Turtle Nests!
