Omgosh it is still hot out and it is September but soon you will need to get out your Hilton Head Island fall wardrobe! You know, long sleeved shirts, and denim capris instead of linen and closed toe 👟. Save the wool hat and puffer vests and jackets for when you head back home… you know, up north 🧭 Ohio 🗺️ Ohio Pennsylvania 🗺️ New York 🗽 Virginia 🗺️ Tennessee, North Carolina etc@topfans

Turtle Tracks! We will miss seeing these! On Hilton Head Island, nesting season is considered over because it has been two weeks since the last female nested. But wait… soon you will see,Hatchling tracks! There are just over 150 nests on HHI that are incubating and they will hatch out in their own time. They will continue to be monitored until all remaining nests hatch!!!
 Have you been on the island when mama Turtle was laying eggs and heading back to the ocean or when baby Turtles begin their journey across the beach into the ocean?got photos? Please post them!

It’s going to be very hot 🥵 over the next several days, and we’re asking everyone to take a few extra precautions to stay safe.

The National Weather Service Charleston has issued a Heat Advisory today from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for coastal portions of southeast South Carolina and southeast Georgia, with heat index values up to 110°F.

An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect Thursday for coastal counties, where the heat index could reach 115°F. Thursday and Friday are expected to bring some of the hottest 🥵 🌞 🥵 ☀️ temperatures🌡️ of this heat wave, and additional heat advisories may be needed through the weekend.

A few reminders for you, your family and your neighbors:

💧 Drink plenty of 💦 water — don’t wait until you’re thirsty 😮‍💨

❄️ Stay cool — spend time indoors or in air conditioning whenever possible.

🌤️ Take it easy outside — save strenuous activities for cooler morning or evening hours and take frequent breaks.

🏠 Check on your neighbors — especially older adults, families with young children and anyone who may not have reliable air conditioning.

🚗 Never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even for a few minutes. Don’t let your pets walk on hot 🥵 pavement, or sidewalks

⚠️ Know the signs of heat illness. Heavy 😓 weakness, dizziness😵‍💫 headache, nausea and muscle cramps can be signs of heat exhaustion. Confussion🤔 or loss of consciousness may indicate heat stroke — call 911 immediately.
