On Saturday, June 10th, we will hold the next Second Saturdays event in Hinton. To start the day we will hold "Color the River Float 2017" an event on the Greenbrier River. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m., at Summers County 4-H Camp. Parking will be by the pool and picnic shelter. Put-in will be behind the pool. Start time for the float will be give or take 11:00 a.m.

*All floaters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult, or have written parental consent.
*12 years old and younger must wear a life jacket at all times.
*Boater rules and regulations apply, i.e., if you are in a canoe or kayak, you must have a life jacket for each person in that vessal.
*Remember this is a family friendly event.

Berry's Campground will be on site with tube rentals. All rentals will include a life jacket. The cost for rental will be $15.00 for the day. Berry's Campground will also provide shuttle service from the takeout to the 4-H Camp for $2.00 per person. (Berry's Camp Ground rules and regulations for use of their equipment applies.)

Takeouts will be the public access across from Willow Wood where the Cameo use to be. The second takeout will be Riverside Camp Sites on the Willow Wood side of the river. You can park a second vehicle at either site and avoid needing shuttle service. (Additional takeouts may be posted.)

Color the River Float 2017 will be a fundraiser to start a fund for cancer victims in Summers county. Although there will be no fee to float, there will be a 50/50 drawing and a limited supply of decals to purchase, with all proceeds going to this fund. In order to win the 50/50 prize, you must be present at the music event that night, located on Courthouse Square.

**This event is contingent upon the conditions of the river. Should the river be too high for safety, the event will be rescheduled.

At 4:00 p.m., the Hinton Hot Rod Association will set-up near the Courthouse. Food vendors will be set-up between the Courthouse and the Post Office once again. Music will kick-off at 6:00 p.m, with The Kind Thieves taking the stage at 8:00 p.m.

This event is a work in progress. We are hoping to post an early registration form that can be emailed, so please read future post for additional details, possible changes, etc.. Remember, this float will take 4 to 5 hours, so bring a cooler with snacks and something to drink. (No glass bottles permitted on the river.)

Shew, that was a long one!! We hope to see you on Saturday June 10th, 2017, as we Color the River!!
