Just looking at the numbers from Greer County they have had 65 total cases so far, 4 active, 55 recovered, and unfortunately 6 deaths so far related to Covid-19. We in Harmon County show no cases or deaths at this point. I think these numbers reflect the fact that we probably aren't testing aggressively enough and I understand why. I called last Thursday inquiring about testing and was told to contact a 405 number . This means people can still be walking around here asymptomatic (showing no symptoms)of the virus while spreading it to everyone. So we need to remain vigilant with social distancing, washing hands and surfaces frequently, and continue to follow scientific recommendations. We have done well so far, we can't afford to take our foot off the pedal just yet.

Sorry to report the decision was made over the weekend to suspend business and close the motel (Sportsman's 62 Motel in Hollis) beginning this evening until the 1st of April due to the current uncertainty of the Covid-19 virus. At that time we'll take a look at the current conditions and reassess our business. Sorry to inconvenience anyone but this a decision that was made to do our part to stem this pandemic and at the same time protect our staff to live and fight another day. Please be safe and adhere to the scientific guidelines. Thank you
