Most of the time I try to bring happy thoughts to Facebook but at the moment it is very hard to do so. A very dear part of our life has departed and although he was not true family, he was part of the Manta Ray Inn family for so many years until he could not work full time at his age and he would come for a few hours a few times a week. Gerry battled many deamons in his life but he did the best he could and you could always count on Gerry. The Manta Ray Inn guests and even our own little family spent many holidays with Gerry so we all have wonderful memories. In the past year or so he had been helping out at a bar called Boston Johnny. A few hours a day but Gerry loved it and he loved the family that he made at Boston Johnny's and they were great to him even though they did not have any idea of the difficulties that Gerry had been through. Well, sadly Gerry has gone before us but I know that he is looking down and remembering all the good times with everyone that he came in contact with. We will miss his little jokes but mostly we will remember the hard life that he was dealt and how he managed it to the best of his ability. Please take a minute and pray for Gerry. He and I had discuss the church many times over the past two years and he would appreciate your prayers. To our friend Gerry, who is gone but will never be forgotten.
If you have a memory you would like to share please do not hesitate to send it to me. We are making a small memorial to him at Boston Johnny's which was his last place to be surrounded by friends and he loved so many people from the Manta Ray Inn and would often ask about them but it got too difficult for gerry to work outside and also to get the bus to the beach. We loved him.
