"It is my privilege to review and recommend the Sea Bright Vacation Rental in China P**t Bay. This Jewel is located in Kachemak Bay, approximately a 20 minute boat ride out of Homer Harbor. The Sea Bright home has such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. Here you can truly relax…refresh and renew or go full out on the many adventures available from this unique location. The beachcombing, tide pooling, and beach walks are remarkable. The dramatic tidal changes bring twice daily new views and refreshed tide pools. The mountains rise up nearly out of the sea…giving an amazing feel of grandeur. The seals, otters, and soaring eagles lend an unparalleled majesty.

This beautifully hand-crafted home is remarkable. Enjoy a book, cup of coffee, or a glass of wine from the window seat artfully nestled in the bank of windows facing the bay. Relax on the deck, watch the sea birds and sea life. Inside this airy home, you will find a fully appointed kitchen, large living room, and a full library of incredible titles. The master bedroom, lays claim to the splendid view right from the bed, with ensuite full bath and double sinks. The second bedroom also captures the view from the bedside. The second bath is fully appointed. If your party is larger, the Top House can be added. It is bright and airy, with a queen bed, half bath, and private deck.

Since rental of the Sea Bright has many flex features. The staff skipper is available for chartered rides to town or to take you to your chartered fishing, kayaking, sightseeing, or hiking adventures. This skipper has a wide knowledge of local interests, sea life, bird, and wildlife. The owners are retired fishermen, with over 40 years of Alaskan to share. "I have been fortunate enough to have sailed the seven seas and been around the world in some of the best accommodations.

I can't decide if it is Patrick and Barbara's home on a cliff beside the sea is the best or if it is the location that is the best? The home is simply a jewel box and the setting like crown jewels. The craftsmanship and art in the home is stunning  and looking up, well, it just takes your breath way. 3,000' mountains leap us from the estuary which lies at your feet. Want to shake hands with an octopus or catch a salmon from the dock, want to have  bald eagle aerobatic display overhead as you sip your chardonnay? With the living room spotting scope, spy on about l00 seals basking on the nearby sandbar. People come from around the world just to experience the tides that go up and down 20 vertical feet in 6 hours.

Trust me, this will be a lifetime experience for you and your family /friends!"

“Just a quick boat ride from the Spit in Homer, lies a peaceful home surrounded by unspoiled land with unbelievable views of China P**t Bay. There are two separate living spaces on the owners property. A beautiful two bedroom cabin style house fully loaded and a granny flat over looking the bay. Their property is literally right on the water, it’s unbelievable.

Myself, my wife and one year old daughter had an amazing time during our 2 night stay here. The owners are very gracious, respond to any inquiries in a timely manner and are simply put, the best hosts ever. All you have to do is get to the Spit and the owners will coordinate a boat to pick you up and boat you straight to their property.

The owners gave us a list of activities to keep us busy during our stay even though this property is more conducive for a tranquil retreat. But hey, to each their own. The most memorable part of our trip (other than the views) was when we were clamming right below the property. We collected nearly one hundred clams and mussels during low tide. We cleaned them up and ate them for dinner. It was the most delicious meal during our entire ten day stay in Alaska. We highly recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed.

The owners, Pat and Barb will be our friends for life and we can’t wait to revisit. A very memorable trip. Thanks Pat and Barb!”

This custom 5 star 2 bedroom 1800 sq foot single-level home is located on the bluff above the bay, fully fronted in the grand room with windows to take full advantage of a visual feast, complete with a window seat. The perfect location to lounge and enjoy a cup of coffee with a great book.

The grand room sports a full vaulted ceiling of local cottonwood, The home is finished with an amazing collection of 10 hardwoods. The Kitchen is fully appointed. The dining area seats 6, with additional seating for 6 at the kitchen island. The bedrooms are located one at each end of the home, separated by the guardroom which affords each bedroom more privacy. Each bedroom has new queen mattresses and luxury linen, each has its own complete bathroom. The bedrooms are oriented to the view, What a place to wake up!

Across the small bay 5,000-foot peaks jut up from the ocean floor adding to the majestic feel of this home. This 500 acre estuary is home to seals, otters, sea birds, eagles, all 5 species of salmon, and an untold variety of sealife. Half a mile from the home is a sand bar where in July and August at least 100 seals haul out. 1 mile away, Gull Island is home to 17 species of sea birds. Watch the tide change a phenomenal 30 feet every 6 hours. On a clear day view St. Augustine Volcano 70 miles away.
