The house was built in the 1970's around a log cabin which is now the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. The flooring is rustic, and the property has wild Alaska charm. Moose often give birth in the garden in mid May and come and go throughout the seasons. A quiet, rural neighborhood abounding with native wildlife. Most homes are on two acre lots or more. e neighborhood. 1 mile away is the historic Fritz Creek "town center", with Fritz Creek Store, originally built in 1954 with horse power and used as a community center, now a small grocery store, post office, liquor store and kitchen with pizza, baked goods, soups, sandwiches and more. Next to that is the Homestead Restaurant, operating since 1961 offering seafood, steaks, glacier views, a small cocktail bar and featuring local fine art. Also nearby is the 27 acre Alaska Perfect Peony farms, with it's 1947 log cabin, peony fields and Alaska hardy perennial garden trails. Further East you'll find McNeil Canyon Meats for game and local livestock processing, and McNeil Canyon School with it's playground and surrounding wilderness trails that connect to the 80 acre Eveline State Recreation Site, with spectacular views and winter ski trails.
