A dreary morning outside, but a delicious start to the day inside Rawson’s Bed & Breakfast!

What was on the breakfast menu for our guests this morning?

🍇 French toast stuffed with creamy filling and topped with a rich mixed berry sauce and fresh whipped cream.

🍳 Individual baked eggs with a golden, cheesy topping.

🥓 Savory breakfast sausage.

And, of course, a little fresh fruit to round out the meal!

Rainy mornings are made a little better with a hot breakfast, fresh coffee, and a cozy place to start the day.

Just imagine yourself sitting at our breakfast table this morning! ❤️

Yes, sausage links were part of today’s breakfast too! They just missed their photo opportunity. 😂

So just imagine those sausage links on the plate, just as you imagine yourself sitting here enjoying breakfast with us! ❤️

❤️ A Big Announcement from Rawson’s Bed & Breakfast! ❤️

For the first time ever, we are taking the winter off!

After much thought, we have decided that Rawson’s Bed & Breakfast will be closed December 22, 2026, through April 28, 2027.

This is something we have never done before! We have always welcomed guests throughout the winter months, but this coming season, life is bringing us some exciting changes and a few things that need our attention.

💕 First, we have some wonderful news… we are going to be grandparents for the very first time! Our first grandchild is expected, and since our family lives out of state, we want the opportunity to spend some extra time with them and soak up those precious moments.

We also have some big projects and exciting additions planned for the B&B that we hope to have ready for our 2027 season!

On a more personal note, Jeff has some medical surgeries that we need to get scheduled, and those will require some extra time and care. Rather than risk having to cancel reservations or disappoint our guests, we feel this is the best time to take care of those needs.

And after what has been an incredibly busy 2026, we might just need a little time to rest, recharge, and catch our breath, too!

But please don’t worry — Rawson’s isn’t going anywhere! ❤️

We love what we do, the friendships we’ve made, and the wonderful guests who have become part of our extended family. We are simply taking a little longer winter break than usual.

🎄 There’s still plenty of time to visit us in 2026! November and December are such beautiful months in the Amana Colonies, especially during the Christmas season. We would love to welcome you for a holiday getaway before we close!

🌷 And now is the perfect time to start planning your spring and summer 2027 stays! We will be ready to welcome guests back beginning April 29, 2027, refreshed and excited for another wonderful season.

Thank you for making 2026 such an amazing year for us. We are so grateful for your continued support, understanding, and friendship.

Here’s to a new grandbaby, family time, some exciting improvements, and another wonderful year ahead at Rawson’s Bed & Breakfast!

🏰⚔️ Missed the Iowa Renaissance Festival this weekend? There’s still time for an adventure!

The fun continues next weekend in the Amana Colonies, and we have rooms available for Saturday night!

Come enjoy a day of Renaissance fun, food, entertainment, and a little step back in time. Then head back to Rawson’s Bed & Breakfast for a relaxing evening and wake up to a delicious homemade breakfast Sunday morning. ☕🍳

But don’t put away your Renaissance gear just yet!

We’ll be back next weekend, and we’d love to see you again. Bring the friends who missed out, bring the family, and come make another day of it with us.
