🚨 BIG NEWS — 15 Months Later! 🚨

It’s finally happening. After a long 15 months, we’re excited to say the house is so close to being finished! We’re down to the final touches, and it honestly doesn’t even look like the same place anymore.

When Hurricane Helene hit, we thought we’d be able to put everything back together pretty quickly… but once we opened up the walls, 1963 really showed itself. 😅
– Walls not attached to rafters (yes… really).
– Plywood where solid concrete should’ve been.
– Rusted-out pipes that hadn’t been touched in decades.
Every time we fixed one thing, we found three more hiding behind it.

But we kept grinding, and now we’re finally at the finish line. 🙏🔥

We went back and forth on whether we should open it back up, but after all the work, love, sweat, and absolute chaos that went into rebuilding it… it’s way too special not to share. This place deserves to be enjoyed.

We’ll be heading down at the end of December to wrap up the last details, take final photos, and get it officially listed again on VRBO. The outside might need a little more time because of the cold weather and the sod not taking—but the house itself? Unbelievable.

Fun fact: the plumbers who worked on it 16 months ago walked in last week and didn’t even recognize it. That’s how big the transformation is.

When we first bought this house, this was the kitchen.

After Hurricane Helene and the flood, not one wall remained the same. Every single wall inside the house had to come down the entire interior was built with metal studs that weren’t attached to the ceiling, so once the water hit, everything shifted.

When we say we literally had to rebuild this home from the ground up, we mean it. The only thing left original to the house now… is the fireplace. 🔥

Every time the work gets hard and I think about selling, the Homosassa sky reminds me that some places aren’t just homes...

I’ve seen this house down to the studs and never noticed this lone mystery outlet chillin’ above like it’s trying to power heaven itself.
