Ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of running a bed and breakfast. I watched movies like “Holiday Inn” and “White Christmas” and shows like “Newhart” and knew that one day I wanted to be able to make people happy with a cozy spot and make them feel welcome away from their homes. I am so amazingly happy that even though I am not there with them, I can still do this from afar! It makes my little girl heart so happy! I absolutely love making people smile. It’s the little things that should make us happy! For me, I was excited to add my new gator and lizard friends to our Happy Cottage! One of the things that makes us happiest about going to the cottage is our visitors that the kids have named “George and Harley”. We know nothing about herons, but the kids like to think of them as husband and wife. The kiddos often take their fishing gear outside to catch a meal for George and Harley who come every single day. George always makes sure to go find his wife and bring her back for some fish. They love our oldest daughter so much (our avid fisherman in the family) that every day they wait at the back door for her to come outside. They are so darn sweet!
The guests today commmented on how George and Harley were there waiting for them at check in ❤️

So happy to have some fun lights up for our guests! Slowly, but surely, we will have an awesome exterior place to hang out that is fun, cozy and welcoming! We cannot wait to tackle the backyard and dock!

Every time we come to the cottage, we make sure to get a lot of work done to improve the stay for our wonderful guests! This time we added a comfy cushioned bench to the end of the master bed so our guests have a place to put their shoes on, unpack their suitcases, and watch TV, put outside lights up among many other odds and ends, but my favorite improvement is our oak tree swing!

We have a beautiful tree in the front yard that I’ve dreamed about decorating since we bought the cottage! We strung it with lights and hung a swing. I am so excited! Next we are going to have a sign made with the cottage name for a wonderful vacation photo op spot for guests. What a fun and cute little spot at the cottage!

We cannot wait for our next check in! This week we have Wednesday and Thursday evening open due to a last minute cancellation if you want to come see what all the fun is about! We also have a few days left in April and a bulk of May with open dates! We would love to have you stay with us! ❤️❤️

One of my favorite guests so far! This lovely guest was a last minute booking because she needed a break from her house and wanted to come relax with her friend! She was amazing and made my week! A little kindness and happiness goes such a long way!
Even if it is last minute, we would love to host you! I have a couple of days left in January and February, and still some weekends available in April! We would love you to come stay with us at the cottage!
