What we appreciate most about this recognition is the people behind it. 🌱

Five Kyo-ya hotels were recently recognized through the 2025/2026 Hawaiʻi Green Business Program.

We’re grateful for the recognition, but even more grateful for the associates and teams who make this work part of what they do every day — conserving water and energy, reducing waste, and finding better ways to operate responsibly.

Much of that work happens quietly behind the scenes. That’s what makes this recognition meaningful.

Mahalo to our hotel teams, and to the Hawaiʻi Green Business Program and its partners for encouraging all of us to keep improving.

Sometimes changing a young person’s future starts with simply showing up.

Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaiʻi creates those relationships every day—connecting young people with mentors who listen, encourage and believe in them.

Through our recent Mai Tai + Burger fundraiser, $28,964 was raised to support their work.

Mahalo to Tyler Kurashige and the BBBS Hawaiʻi team for investing in Hawaiʻi’s next generation, and to everyone who helped support the fundraiser.

The dollars matter. But having someone in your corner can matter even more.

Childhood cancer affects an entire family. For many of us, it has touched someone we know. 💛

We are grateful to share that our Mai Tais + Burgers campaign raised $23,338 for the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation. It was an honor to present the check to HCCF Executive Director Michelle Meredith.

This was a shared effort across five hotels and restaurants:

• RumFire Waikīkī — Sheraton Waikīkī
• Mai Tai Bar — The Royal Hawaiian
• Beach Bar — Moana Surfrider
• Splash Bar — Sheraton Princess Kaiulani
• Cliff Dive Bar & Grill — Sheraton Maui

HCCF stands beside Hawaiʻi’s keiki and families with support and advocacy during an incredibly difficult time. The families they serve are the heart of this effort.

At Kyo-ya, we believe tourism should support the community that welcomes our guests. This campaign gave visitors and kamaʻāina a simple way to care for local families together. Our hotels can only truly succeed when the community around us is supported and thriving.

Mahalo to HCCF for walking alongside these families—and to our restaurant and hotel ʻohana, guests and kamaʻāina who made this contribution possible. Together, every featured burger and mai tai added up to meaningful support for families facing childhood cancer.

Celebrating Housekeeping Week at the Palace Hotel and the people whose care is felt in every guest stay.

Housekeeping is one of the clearest expressions of hospitality. It is the care, consistency, and attention to detail that make a room feel ready, welcoming, and special.

That work often happens quietly and behind the scenes, but its impact is everywhere.

Mahalo to our Palace Hotel housekeeping team for the pride you bring to this historic hotel each day. We are grateful for all you do and proud to have you as part of the Kyo-ya ʻohana.

A lot of aloha can happen when people come together for Hawaiʻi’s keiki. 💙

Earlier this summer, guests at RumFire helped support Children’s Miracle Network through our Burgers & Mai Tais for Miracles campaign.

That effort came full circle at the Kapiʻolani Radiothon for Kids, where associates from Moana Surfrider, The Royal Hawaiian, Sheraton Waikiki and Sheraton Princess Kaiulani came together in support of Hawaiʻi’s keiki.

Mahalo to our associates, guests and partners who helped make it possible. We’re grateful to be part of an effort that brings our hotels and community together for something that truly matters.

More than a game. 🌺🏈

The Sheraton Hawaiʻi Bowl brings people together while creating opportunities to support our local community.

We were grateful to join the Hawaiʻi Bowl Foundation, Extra Yard for Teachers, Teach For America Hawaiʻi, Coca-Cola, HawaiʻiUSA Federal Credit Union, Pearl Hawaii Federal Credit Union and Zippy’s in recognizing Hī‘ipoi Lee with a $1,000 award supporting her students.

Mahalo, Ms. Lee, and to educators across Hawaiʻi for all you do for our keiki.

Tourism is at its best when Hawaiʻi benefits too.

The leis, the smiles and a room full of people said it all.

Congratulations to Tets Yamazaki on receiving the Distinguished Industry Award at MPI Aloha Chapter’s 2026 Hoʻoilina Awards Gala.

From guiding the Sheraton Maui team as they cared for displaced associates and families after the wildfires to helping prepare the next generation at Sheraton Waikiki, Tets leads with integrity, humility and generosity.

We are proud of you, Tets—and grateful to everyone who has walked alongside you. 👏🏽

Culture is kept alive by people. 🌺

Music, dance, food, family and generations coming together made this year’s Okinawan Festival something special.

Kyo-ya was grateful to support the Hawaiʻi United Okinawa Association and the many volunteers, performers and families who continue to share Okinawan culture with Hawaiʻi.

The celebration continues in Waikīkī through the Okinawan FEASTival, with special offerings from our team at Splash Bar at Sheraton Princess Kaʻiulani.

Mahalo to everyone helping carry these traditions forward for the next generation. ❤️

From ʻāina to mākeke. 🌱

What made this visit special was hearing the stories behind the products.

At the Hawaiʻi Food & Product Innovation Network in Wahiawā, we learned how local entrepreneurs are getting the technical support, equipment, training and production capacity they need to take an idea and grow it into a business.

We also had the chance to hear directly from Berklee Welsh of Shaka Butter, who shared her year-long journey developing her signature chunky coconut peanut butter and bringing it to farmers markets and retail shelves.

And there was a nice connection for our team: some of the businesses coming through this ecosystem are already reaching guests at our hotels, including Hawaiian Soda Co. and Kenny Boy Ice Cream.

That is where this becomes real for us. Hospitality can be more than a place where visitors stay — it can also create opportunities for local businesses to be discovered, supported and grow.

Mahalo to Sen Dela Cruz, Chris Bailey, Berklee, and everyone who welcomed us and shared the vision behind this 33,000-square-foot facility and its four kitchens.

We left asking a simple question: where else can our hotels help create a pathway from Hawaiʻi-made to Hawaiʻi-shared?
