For more than 30 years, OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort has helped keep Hawaiian music alive through its iconic “Duke’s on Sunday” tradition at Duke's Waikiki.

What began in 1993 as a vision to bring people together through live music by the ocean has become one of Waikīkī’s most beloved weekly traditions, featuring legendary Hawaiian musician Henry Kapono.

That commitment to live music continues today with Blue Note Hawaii, located inside the resort, which provides a stage for talented Hawaiian musicians alongside nationally and internationally recognized performers.

Through its continued support of local artists and live performances, OUTRIGGER helps preserve Hawaiʻi’s rich musical heritage while sharing it with visitors and kamaʻāina alike.

Hotel advocacy goes beyond the visitor industry - it’s about supporting the communities we call home.

Back in June, Hawaiʻi Hotel Alliance member brought its community together at the Waikīkī Aquarium for its 10th Annual OUTRIGGER Zone Day.

The event resulted in 2,064 Genki Balls made in partnership with the Genki Ala Wai Project to help restore the Ala Wai Canal, while also bringing together local conservation organizations and celebrating Hawaiʻi’s deep connection to our land and ocean.

We’re proud to highlight HHA members like Outrigger Resorts who continue to invest their time and resources into protecting Hawaiʻi for generations to come.

Another hurricane has passed Hawaii by, and we’re grateful our islands were once again spared the worst.

For Hawaii’s hotel and tourism industry, preparation is always a priority. We appreciate the hotel teams, emergency personnel and community partners who stay ready and work behind the scenes to keep our residents and visitors safe.
