At the Moonshine Cabin Hope Alaska we have visitors from all over the world. Our latest visitors were young people ( going to college in So Cal) from China who stayed for 5 days. The winter is such a great time to visit Alaska and the cabin is a great base for exploring The Great Land. World class backcountry skiing, snowmobile tours, ice climbing, cross country skiing, flight seeing and much more is available for the adventurer or just fire up the wood stove, put on the coffee, grab a good book and drop into a relaxing day cozy day.

Summer sunsets around Hope and Turnagain Arm are spectacular! It’s always a great time of the day to get outside and feel the magic.

You never know what you’re gonna see on the drive between Anchorage and Hope. A few days ago it was this whale ( maybe gray whale ) that was stranded for a while then lifted by the incoming tide to go on its way up Turnagain Arm which is really coming to life after a long winter....the fish are starting to run, eagles congregating to eat the fish and beluga whales too, plus an abundance of resident and migratory birds. Gotta love Springtime in Alaska!!!!
