The City of Samburg has established a severe weather response committee.

The committee was established by city board members on July 6th, due to a fortified storm/tornado shelter being added to the new Samburg City Hall

The severe weather response committee is comprised of Fire Chief Ken Hogg, Mayor Timbo Smith, Alderman Ralph Alexander and Brent Callicott.

In the event of a Tornado Watch for Obion County, one of the team members will respond to the City Hall to open and make the storm shelter available for local residents.

City board members said the shelter will be available only for the duration of a storm threat, and not a long term shelter for housing if damage should occur.

Attention Campground Guests

It has been brought to my attention that some campground rules are not being followed. To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable stay, please review the following reminders:

All dogs must be on a leash whenever they are outside your camper. Unleashed dogs can create safety concerns for other guests and their pets. If I observe a dog off leash, or receive a report that is verified, you will be asked to leave the campground.
Do not use another camper’s electrical service for any reason. This includes plugging in vehicles, boats, golf carts, extension cords, or any other electrical devices without the owner’s permission.
Recreational ma*****na is illegal in Tennessee and is not permitted anywhere on campground property.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in following these rules. Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment for all of our guests.
