City of Hornell Recognizes John Carbone for 20 Years as Alderman
The City of Hornell recognized 10th Ward Alderman John Carbone at the November Common Council meeting. Carbone was honored for his commitment to the City, having served as 10th Ward Alderman for over 20 years, and was also recently elected to another two-year term beginning in January 2026.
Mayor John Buckley expressed his appreciation, stating, โJohn Carbone has provided steady leadership for the City over the years, and I value his thoughtfulness and contributions as Alderman. He is Chairman of the Planning and Development and Audit Committees, demonstrating leadership in these vital areas, and also serves on the board for the Hornell Industrial Development Agency (IDA).โ
Mayor Buckley further highlights Carboneโs community commitment: โBeyond his official duties, Johnโs dedication to our community is shown through his work at the Main Place, where he facilitates and hosts events that help define our community, such as St. Patrickโs Day and New Yearโs celebrations, as well as many other community gatherings. I deeply appreciate all John does to make a real difference for the people of Hornell.โ
Carbone first joined the Common Council in 2005, filling an unexpired term before being elected later that year. While much has changed over the past two decades, the City of Hornell continues to value his unwavering commitment to the community and looks forward to his continued service.
