Here's a corner of the Inn that hasn't changed in generations.

If you've ever signed our guest book, you've met this table. It's been right here since the 1950's (and likely long before), quietly welcoming travelers decade after decade. Thousands of guests have paused at this very spot to leave a note, a memory or a little piece of their story - and we love how the inn carries all of it so gracefully.

Sometimes the best evenings are the simple ones. We're now offering charcuterie boards for our guests - perfect for that cozy evening in, especially on nights when Hot Springs is a little quieter.

Our two-person board is filled with cheeses, meats, fruit, and little treats and you can add wine or champagne if you'd like. Just let us know ahead of time, and we'll have it waiting for you. A lovely way to settle in and savor the night.

One of the quieter perks of a stay at Vine Cottage Inn.

Our guests often tell us about spotting deer in the field across from the Inn - and every now and then, we find a few visitors a little closer to home, too!

Just one of those unexpected little moments that makes you stop for a minute and enjoy where you are.

Some morning, the aroma says "good morning" before we do.

Fresh apple cinnamon scones baking in the oven filled Vine Cottage Inn this morning, making it nearly impossible to wait until breakfast was served.

Today's first course paired one of those warm scones with a fresh strawberry yogurt parfait topped with seasonal berries - a simple start to the day before the hot breakfast arrived.

Breakfast is one of our favorite ways to help guests slow down, linger a little longer, and start their Bath County adventure feeling well cared for.

What's your breakfast weakness... warm pastries or fresh fruit?

This is still one of my favorite guest memories!

A group of friends spent the weekend exploring Bath County. Along the way, one of them taught the others a choreographed dance, practicing it at different stops throughout their trip.

When they returned to the Inn at evening, I asked how "dance class" had gone. Their response? "Do you want to see the final performance?" Of course I said yes... and then asked if I could film it for Vine Cottage Inn. Thankfully, they agreed.

Happy National Girlfriends Day to the friends who turn ordinary weekends into unforgettable memories.

Who would you bring on a girls' getaway?

Some of the most meaningful reviews aren't written... they're painted.

Over the past six weeks, we've received three incredible gifts from guests, and we're honestly still a little speechless.

Vanessa spent an afternoon relaxing on our front porch and painted a beautiful watercolor of Vine Cottage while she was here.

Landon, who stayed with us for just one evening, surprised us with a detailed pencil sketch of the inn. We were amazed that a 12-year-old could capture it so beautifully after such a short visit.

One gift especially touched my heart.

Last summer, Kiely, the 16-year-old-daughter of a long time returning guest, asked me what my favorite place in the world was. I told her it was the beach at Pentwater, Michigan, where I spent many summers growing up. I never thought another thing about our conversation.

When she returned this year, she surprised me with this beautiful painting. She had looked up photos of Pentwater online, even though she'd never been there herself, and painted it just for me.

I'll admit... I got a little teary-eyed when she told me the story.

Each of these gifts now has a special place inside the inn. The artwork will hang on our walls for years to come. The kindness behind it will stay with us even longer.

To Vanessa, Landon, Kiley, and to all of our guests who have become part of the Vine Cottage Inn family...

Thank you!

🌿 Nature Notes from Vine Cottage Inn

Some of Bath County's most remarkable visitors don't appear until after the sun goes down.

Over the past few summers, we've been fortunate to spot these incredible moths right here at the inn - from the graceful Luna Moth to the colorful Rosy Maple Moth. They serve as a reminder that nature has a way of surprising us when we take the time to slow down and look.

Which one is your favorite?

Sometimes the most unforgettable discoveries happen just outside the front door.

Every beautiful view has a story behind it.

Guests often comment on how peaceful and well-kept Vine Cottage Inn looks when they arrive. What they don't always see is the work that goes into keeping a 126-year-old property looking its best.

After a very dry spring, a few weeks of much-needed rain sent our 19 yew and boxwood shrubs into a growth spurt. This week, Dave and I spent several days giving each one its annual "haircut".

It's not the glamorous side of innkeeping, but it's one of the many ways we care for this historic home so it's ready to welcome every guest who pulls into the driveway.

Not every vacation memory comes with blue skies. Some of the most memorable moments happen when summer storms roll through Bath County.

Whether you're sharing the porch with your favorite person or simply enjoying a quiet moment to yourself, there's no better place to experience a storm than the front porch at Vine Cottage Inn - with the sound of rain on the roof and thunder echoing across the Allegheny Mountains.

Sometimes the best memories are the ones you never planned.

Some adventures are measured in miles. Others are measured in moments.

One of the things we love most about Bath County is that there are so many ways to slow down and experience the mountains. For some guests, that means a peaceful horseback ride through the Allegheny Highlands. For others, it might be a quiet hike, an afternoon on the river, or simply relaxing on the porch with a good book.

Whatever your perfect getaway looks like, we're always happy to help you discover it.
