The Sterchi Lodge Chair (Wayne!) designed and pre-cut the materials for a Gaga pit, and a few committee members helped install it today. Now all visitors can learn to play Gaga, fun for all ages!!

It is with deep sadness that we share that Essie Lee (Mooneyham) Burgin, Sterchi Lodge's long-time caretaker, left this earth on May 29 to be with her husband, Roy Burgin, in heaven. They served Church Street United Methodist Church and the visitors to Sterchi Lodge for over 40 years, and in many ways were the heart of the Lodge.
Her obituary can be found on the website of Manes Funeral Home in Newport, TN, along with an area to leave condolences for the family to see.

While Sterchi Lodge was not damaged by Hurricane Helene, the lodge is closed for reservations for the remainder of the year due to road closings, limited access and recovery efforts in the surrounding area.

Sterchi Lodge is a retreat in the mountains on the Tennessee / North Carolina border, just a half mile down the road from Max Patch and the Appalachian Trail. At 4,470 feet elevation, the 35 acre lodge is a mission of Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN.
