The Katy Freeway in Houston, Texas is the widest highway in the world with 26 lanes, consisting of 12 main lanes, eight feeder lanes, and six managed lanes!

The managed lanes are used by mass transit vehicles during peak hours and are open to single-occupancy vehicles for a toll-fee during off-peak hours. Despite critics' concerns about increased traffic, the management system of the freeway effectively disperses traffic and reduces congestion compared to typical motorways.
