Camp FLOOD update —

With one of the wettest Julys on record, we’ve seen a lot of flooding around Southcentral Alaska, and our camp on the Little Susitna flooded as well.

We ended up canceling two bookings, which we feel really bad about. We know it takes time to plan these trips and we don’t take canceling lightly. We always make sure to give full refunds and hope our guest can come back on a sunny day.

We’re back up and running now, with the next group arriving today!

Overall, camp did great besides a little extra layer of silt in some areas. This is our first flood since owning the property in 3 years, so we’re pretty happy with how everything handled it.

Hopefully we won’t see another flood for a while!

Camp DeVo update — 7/15/26

We’ve now had over 100 guests stay at camp this summer!

Yesterday we ran out to check on camp, restock the firewood shed, and get things ready for the next guests.

We’re pretty booked up for the next 4 weeks, but due to recent cancellations we now have two weekends open in mid-August.

Camp Update!

We put in a ton of work at Camp DeVo over the past week.

Last year we had guests parking their RVs in the grass, which left some pretty deep ruts. So we turned those areas into new RV/parking spots!
To be fair, we really needed more safe parking closer to the fire pit and gazebo for everyone to enjoy. The boat launch also needed some work too, it doubles as RV/parking as well.

We often get asked how many RVs can fit at camp. For scale, the wall tent is 22' x 12'.
We had a blast spending 6 days at camp, tons of work but we are happy to share our special place with you guys!

We just had a cancellation for June 12 - 14!

Unfortunately, a guest had a serious foot injury and had to cancel both of her weekend bookings.

That means we now have two weekends available:

• June 12 - 14
• July 31 - August 2

These are the only weekends we have open now until the second week of September.

Book directly through the website to avoid the extra HipCamp fees.

1st time working with IPE (Brazilian walnut). Man this stuff is hard! 3600 on the janka hardness scale vs American black walnut at 1010.

I did make two of these benches. One for us and one for a customer.

Camp is open!

We are super booked out already, but do still have a couple weekday spots open in May for anyone interested.

Mama moose and two yearlings have been hanging around camp a ton lately.

Lots of birds showing up too — sandhill cranes flying by, tons of ducks going up and down the river, robins all over camp, and these two sandpipers were getting after it while I was installing the solar.

Summer is almost here!
