Our Story
This farmstead is a rare find in the Piney Woods of East Texas. The owners have strived to keep a historical feel in the farmhouse as well as the grounds. How many properties do you visit today that have no concrete poured in slabs or sidewalks? The walks are bricked and the house sets on pier and beam. Extensive perennial and herb gardens surround the house and outbuildings. You will find several comfortable places to sit and relax both inside and out. Two private rooms and private baths are in the main house. It also offers sleeping on the sunporch which is part of the house but not totally private. Folks marvel at our large country kitchen, no one realizes it was remodeled in 2016. A large farm table will seat twelve or you may dine on the sunporch and birdwatch while drinking morning coffee and indulging in a big homemade country breakfast.
The private cabin, "Parkers Crossing" sleeps four adults comfortably, with two queen beds and two single mattress's. It has a historical feel with its aspen tongue and groove walls and reclaimed barn tin ceiling and shower. Vintage reclaimed doors panel a wall in the bedroom, the ceiling is adorned with real milk paint handmade by the owner. A large farm sink is set in a countertop that was built from an old church pew and above the sink are pie safe doors turned shutters which set perfectly in the window. The quaint feel of this cute cabin in the woods allows for no-frills relaxation, calming for the soul, and fresh air for the lungs.
Tim and Jolene are experienced innkeepers who have been making folks feel comfortable and welcome at Holly Hill for 18 years.
