The area is known for its art, music, arts and crafts, outdoor summer plays, wineries and antiquing. At Crider's, in operation since 1927 and just down the road, there is a Saturday night rodeo, with dining and dancing under the stars, from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The area boasts abundant wildlife, including Axis and Whitetail deer, fox, catfish and Big-Mouth bass, and at least thirty-two varieties of birds, to name a few. Spring has arrived in the village of Hunt, Tex with the hills and valleys covered in a sea of green. The birds are preparing their nests for the birth of their young, and the deer are locating a safe place to hide their babies at birth.
I love this time of year, the smell of fresh mown grass, the beauty of daffodils and iris proudly showing their shape and color, fields of wild flowers that unexpectedly appear in the fields, the fragrant smells in the air, and the fireflies lighting up the evening shy.

Much fun is had a Casa del Rio Riverhouse climbing the hills, canoeing the river, fishing for large bass after which warming at the fireplace inside, and drinking a cup of hot cocoa. There are 50 acres to explore covered with huge trees and an abundance of wildlife. The winter rate is now $249 a night instead of $298 a night and will last through March. The 2 bedroom 1 bath house rock house sleeps 6 and has central heat and A/C.
It is peaceful and private and an awesome place to stay.

I have a December Special at Casa del Rio Riverhouse. My nightly rate is now $198 instead of $298, plus Cleaning and Tax.
The river is running clear and cold, the weather is cold at night and warm during the day. The beauty is awesome, and the Hill Country life peaceful. This could be a Christmas gift to your family or to a loved one.
