Our stately Italianate family home was built in 1859 by Samuel H. An inspirational civic leader and successful businessman, Samuel Purviance was widely known as a kind and generous man. Samuel and Elizabeth Purviance, their nine children and their heirs owned and called the Purviance House home for over 100 years. As the current stewards of the Purviance House, we invite you to enjoy a legacy of warm Huntington hospitality.

Fun day at Purviance House Bed and Breakfast getting the grounds all ready for winter. Three of the Davis grands showed up and in one hour we had 22 bags of leaves filled and stacked ready for pick up on Tuesday.

It’s been a fun but busy week at the Purviance House Bed and Breakfast! The back porch deck got a fresh coat of paint and the new ramp got stained after all the new lumber cured. Special thanks to Dave Bracht for his outstanding attention to detail and craftsmanship. We also got a white spruce planted today as part of Oaktober!

So very pleased with the outstanding work Dave Bracht did with the construction of our accessible ramp. The trex decking and the 6x6 posts along with the replicated balusters to match the original 1859 back porch. Special thanks to Builder’s Mart for sourcing the materials. Love keeping it local!!
